Oakley x Francisco Lindor 2021 MLB Baseball Campaign

The future is undeniably bright for MLB shortstop Francisco Lindor. This year alone he’s announced his move to the Mets and a 10-year, $341 million contract extension. So when it came to launching an endorsement contract with Oakley, Matthew Coughlin Photography was thrilled capture the moment.

As a return collaboration with STEPT Studios and Oakley, Matthew was hired to complete a single-day shoot on location in Orlando, Florida. The shoot consisted of two portions—in-studio and on/off-field lifestyle photography.

Shooting in a studio setting provides maximum light control. This fostered an almost futuristic look to the eyewear, showcasing details and perfection alongside its overall innovative styling. Poses were kept authentic and in motion with moments of concentration and determination.

The on-field lifestyle photography featured a documentary approach with both an accurate representation of baseball and personal feel. The style of these images were similar to those captured during the previous Oakley x NFL Campaign—highlighting both the athlete’s eyewear and their craft.

“Francisco Lindor is one my favorite athletes I have ever worked with. He’s funny, always smiling and treats everyone on set with respect. His easy going personality meshed well with mine which made for a very organic, successful collaboration.” — Matthew
